KCDI works to enhance and improve the quality of life for both urban and rural communities by educating ,training and empowering communities. This is achieved via collaboration with the following agencies, and organization: RADA, JAS, JFLL, HEART, 4H, Rise Management Services Ltd., Newport (Fersan) Jamaica Ltd. Caribbean Development Bank, Intra American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), Caribbean Farmer Network and The Ministry of Agriculture. Under KCDI’s Community Development Unit several projects have successfully been implemented, most recently is the HEART/ICT4D computer reading project for adults, the CSJP/ HEART Early Childhood obtaining 100% passes at their first sitting and now the re opening and re branding of the Allman Town Skill Training Centre. The centre is now named KCDI Vocational Training Centre and will be offering HEART level 1 & 2 courses namely House Keeping, General Office Admin and Woodwork . Admission will be gained via the successful completion of the HEART entrance examination. Applications are now being accepted. Allman Town with a youth population between the ages of 15-29 is in need of such a centre. This is bourn out by the numerous request and support the re opening of the centre.
