Cigarettes contain  more then just tobacco....a lot more. National Public Radio obtained a list of 13 additives that tobacco companies add to their cigarettes. The chemicals are on a secret list of about 700 additives that tobacco companies report to the government each year. Federal law prohibits government officials from releasing information contained in the list. These chemicals are so bad,that FDA doesn't allow them to be used in food and five are designated as hazardous substances by the Environmental Protection Agency. Among these are ammonia...witch irritutes the skin, eyes and respiratory tract, and freon, a chlorofluoro-carbon used in refrigerator and automobile systems.Add up even minute amounts in each cigarette and multiply that by the millions of people who smoke packs a day and it amounts to a major environmental problem.

I have always suspected it was more than just tobacco. People have been smoking tobacco for centuries, and only since it became commercialized has lung cancer became so epidemic. Now we no why.....but we still continue to smoke....some things never change.....thats just my opinion anyway
