Adesuwa Odiase, Abigail McFarlane, Rohnel Hutchinson, Charice Green, Ronese Pandohie, Anna Kaye Walters, André Walters and Shanoi Thompson are all at the top of their class.

Adesuwa is six years old, and is in grade one. The youngster is quite fond of mathematics and spelling. But, outside the class-room, he loves his toy aero-plane. "It is my favourite toy, and when I grow up, I want to be a pilot," he said.

Abigail is also six years old. The grade-one student says she enjoys mathematics and reli-gious education.

She is confident that she is making her parents very proud and knows she has to keep up the hard work in order to make her dreams of becoming a medical doctor a reality.

When Rohnel was asked if he knew what the job of a paediatrician entailed, he giggled and answered: "Yes, they take care of babies - it's a baby doctor. I want to be that, or a pilot."

Like his other schoolmates, the seven-year-old has managed to maintain an above-90-per- cent average in his work.

Charice also has the bragging rights of a first-class honour-list honouree. At six years old, the grade-two student is deeply in love with art and hopes to make it the subject of her teaching profession in the future.

She will also be quick in her correction if you happen to pronounce her name as 'Sharice' and not 'Karise', as she said it should be pronounced.

Ronese likes art because "it's fun," she said, and this best sums up why she wants to be an artist and paint breathtaking pictures.

With art aside, she likes a little mathematics here and there.

The brother/sister duo of Anna Kaye Walters and André Walters is big on saving people.

Anna Kaye, seven, wants to be a doctor because she "wants to help sick people."

Her brother André, eight, wants to be a fireman because he "wants to put out fires and rescue people."

Both students said they enjoyed mathematics and Spanish.

There is another doctor on the list. Shanoi Thompson wants to be a doctor and "help sick people get better."
