I woke this morning to hear on the news that a teenage boy had been fatally stabbed during a street fight in my town centre in the early hours of this morning with another in a critical condition, my first thought was why is knife culture growing so rapidly when all it is doing is causing so much grief and destruction to so many lives? does it prove someting that you can walk up to someone and lunge a knife into them? i cant understand how these people can take a life so easily, some will say'i didnt mean to' but they still left their house tooled up and wiling to use it. The sad thing is if it was one of their family being stabbed i doubt it would change their mind about carying a knife.

I later left my house to go shopping and came face to face with a friend of mine completely distrought and in floods of tears, it was her 17 year old brother that had been murdered.

suddenly the realisation of the whole situation seems so much closer to home, i had never imagined that it could be someone i knew.

What is the world coming to when teenagers feel it nessersary to take each othes lives? is there not enough war going on in the world aready?
