Go watch "The International"
Posted On 03/20/2009 22:24:35 by santania

I just watched “The International” Darn, that was a GREAT movie!

I can’t believe that persons thought it was no good.  A friend of mine bloged on her FB she that was going to watch it and the responses were unbelievably negative.  We ‘almost’ didn’t bother to go see it.

Thank goodness I did!

Isn’t it crazy how much we allow others to influence our perceptions and help shape our experiences and our life! Goodness, I submit to the fact that this is ‘natural’ but mustn’t we be able to at least control the degree to which we allow ‘the matrix’/others’ influences to control us? Or maybe not! Scary, but it is really just life, so we really shouldn’t be scared! In a way we are like fishes … totally oblivious of the water in which they swim!

Back to the Movie!  It was so …. Enlightening (I’m still with the ‘Matrix’ theme here).  I’m not going to get into the details, or even a summary of the movie, after all, people really should go see it, but I really felt compelled to comment on the unsettling thoughts and feelings it evoked. It is frighteningly reminding of how powerless we all are to the structures we create.  Structures take on a life of their own, and eventually devour even their creators!  The movie gave us a glimpse of how these structures are formed and the kinds of power that it takes to create these structures, but ironically in the end, the most powerful are the most vulnerable!

Just to illustrate … (from a scene in the movie)

“Why would a bank involve itself in the business of buying and selling arms … even when there is very little profit to be made from such a venture?”

“Because the bank wants to control the conflict in the world”

… even more puzzled …

“And why would the bank want to control conflict?”

Simple … because conflict creates debt”

Hello … is there a pun here as well?

We are all a part of the Matrix!  Scary I tell you.

Again, the movie was great! Go see it!

I’d just like to leave you with three quotes I took from the movie

  1. “What do you do when there is no where to turn?    Go in deeper”
  2. “Sometimes we find our destiny on the road we took to avoid it in the first place”
  3. “Truth comes with responsibility … that’s why we dread it so much”

Of course, there were lots more great ones, but these are the three I remember!

Peace.....& LOVE...
