Sanchez excited about 'How we Roll'
“How I lift up my head to the father” leaps out at listeners off Platinum Camp’s gold find hit, ‘How We Rolling’ featuring the camp’s rapper J-BlaX. The Midas voice singer, Sanchez, a little less visible in recent years yet still Jamaica’s answer to Stevie Wonder, reminds he never left. At first play, the track and Sanchez’s input seemed like a classic lifestyle of the rich and famous conveyed in his latest ‘How We Rolling’ until the song took an urban pop turn.
“Yeah man, that’s how we roll you know, when we on tour, when we at work in the street, when we a kick back with family or hang at the clubs that’s just how we roll!” Sanchez endorsed.

On and off soil, Sanchez has remained an important reference in the recollection of Jamaica’s musical history with hits that span more that three decades. Few singers do justice to the covers he has sang, few also share the spotlight of other genres of music. Sanchez has sung gospel, R&B, dancehall and contemporary reggae with success every time. Yet Sanchez is excited about ‘How We Rolling’ specifically because of its power to break him into a youth and pop market.
“Well, some people have made a few efforts in the past but nothing like this. I am excited about this track. I think this one will be the one to cross over,” Sanchez is confident.
The Platinum Camp recording materialized when Sanchez was on tour and was approached by the Camp
“general”, known only as Bigg$, and told about rappers J-BlaX and DJ Xyle.
“Yeah, you know from Bigg$ tell me about the youth and we link up to record I had no problem with them. They are talented and humble and easy to work with,” Sanchez tells.
Already J-BlaX, who is known for his ‘Who Gives A F About The Law’, has been getting pointers from the singer and will later drop an R&B soul single. The music video to animate ‘How We Rolling’ will be released soon and will be overflowing with cash money lifestyle, bling bling vroom vroom.
“I am on my way to New York to film my part of the music video and I am also looking forward to doing some shows promoting the single with J-BlaX,” Sanchez tells.
In the meantime, the singer who has become a father to many at his home community in Jamaica, Stand Pipe, has been materializing his dreams to help. “Well, we start an every Wednesday talent show to showcase the youths of the community who are gifted,” Sanchez said.
‘How We Rolling’ has been blowing up in New Jersey, New York, Miami and Jamaica, slowly gaining popularity until the video drops this month. ‘How We Rolling’ can be accessed on the Platinum Camp’s MySpace.
