A holiday rep who mysteriously vanished in Majorca two months ago, may have been spotted by a British couple shortly before she went missing.
Jacqueline Tennant, a 45-year-old First Choice tour company rep, from Berkshire disappeared on October 9, during a hiking trip.
The last known person to speak to her was a supervisor who called her mobile phone on her day off from work, as she climbed a mountain.
But last week Jacqueline's sister, Monique, was contacted by a couple from Worthing who had been vacationing in Majorca, and saw a black girl ascending the mountain that they were making their way down.
focusing
Clinging to the hope that the woman they saw was her sister, Monique is now trying to organise a search in January of Ermita de la Victoria. "We've mapped out the area where they walked, and that's where we're going to be focusing the search."
Previously, a trace on Jacqueline's mobile by phone company Movistar suggested she had been in Escorca, and searches have taken place there, along with other random areas.
According to Monique, the couple were apprehensive about getting in touch, not wanting to raise her hopes. "But they made contact, and it's certainly worth looking into," she said.
"They decided to come down [the mountain] because the weather was looking a bit suspect. It was a little bit overcast," Monique added. "They didn't actually get to the point, but she was heading towards the point."
The couple claim to have seen the woman between 12pm and 1pm on the afternoon Jacqueline disappeared, around the time the supervisor called her.
