Oneil 'Dippozit' Richards was born on Sep 15 1981 in Kingston, Jamaica. As a toddler he lived with his grandparents {Madda Claire & Maas Daley} in the rural parish of St Mary also known as the banana parish where from that age it was clear music was his God given path, even though he had other talents he was good at music was king . While attending Lewis Burke Basic and All Age School his talent as a dj began to take shape. He mastered the latest Buju Banton tunes as if he had written and recorded them himself, dominating concerts and other gatherings effortlessly . He began to dj on his uncle’s sound system named “Young Gyal Promotions” covering dancehall rhythms masterfully. His community took notice and began to pay keen attention to their young prodigy. The young talent relocated to the city with his mom [Miss Lana] and his two other siblings in the red hot Community of Whitfield Town in Kingston & St Andrew. His new school was Papine Comprehensive High and from the get go he conquered all that was music, from his first concert to his Graduation in 1999. After high school, he had a relatively small go as a member of the flexible crew with his best friends Damian ‘Jugis' Morris & Charles; Romeo Frazer. In 2001 the group separated and DPTmuzik was born. Dippozit continued to record mostly demos for DPTmuzik while he ventured in his other love - writing screen plays and setting up for his first feature “Mingle”. His love for the art and his drive for the best made it tough to find like-minded collaborators as he always says, he does music based on merit and not popularity and that’s contrary to how music is done. But when music, talent, inspirations and blessings combine it’s not a matter of if… but, when. 2009 marks the launch of Dippozit’s first single I need A wife from his upcoming album, Confidence.
