In the news today: The New Kingston Civic Association (NKCA) in conjunction with the Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association (JHTA) is conducting a $10-million project in New Kingston that will see, among other things, the upgrading and repaving of sidewalks in the city's financial hub.

Well all that sounds good! BUT what about the people living in Rema where there is no water, no garbage collection, sewage water is the urban river, houses where rats have evacuated. Do they not warrant a facelift or more like a lifelift.

The culture of Jamaica has changed where its no longer about fixing whats more needed...its about fixing what will get the most media coverage and make someone's pocket fatter.

Classic Example: Couple years ago the Queen of england decided to visit jamaica, every road that she was suppose to drive on, enroute to her final destination was paved to the highest standards of road construction...while every off road had some pot holes that you could easily fill with water and have a pool day with you and the kids. WTF!

Well the only solution for the poor to get improvement is to pray deligently to the almighty that the next world cup or Queen coming will pass or held near or directly in their community.

Please "FADA GOD" mek di next world cup keep dung a Rema or Maxfield and if di queen or har di bad bowy Prince Harry decide fi cum dung yah mek sure dem drive pass Riverton City, Dela Vega City, Payne Land, Mangoose Town etc. Amen!

But me and u know that we will never live to see these things happend. just for argement, if there was to be a inner city youth world cup i can bet u that it would never keep in the inner city, the goverment would find some way to move it uptown so all the big shoot them could attend it. Is just how the system setup from u come from the inner city you are consider as one of the country reject simple.
